In this blog post, I would like to share some common pitfalls that people who care about their spiritual needs can easily fall into.
In my Healing Reading service, I use oracle and angel cards not only to answer your questions, but also to share spiritual guidance. My approach is closer to counselling: supporting you as you explore your spiritual journey and fulfil your soul’s mission.
The angels also share wisdom with me in my everyday life, beyond my card readings. Through this blog, I share that wisdom so that you can draw on it for your own spiritual path.

Through conversations with my clients, however, I began to notice a few particularly tricky pitfalls, especially among those sincerely working on their spiritual growth. It can be distressing to discover that something you believed was helping you is actually having the opposite effect.
Knowing where these traps lie can help you recognise and avoid them. Here are two significant pitfalls I’ve noticed so far.
A Pitfall Hidden in Positive Thinking and the Law of Attraction
Have you ever felt bad, then immediately thought that you shouldn’t feel that way? Or felt even worse because you were judging yourself: “Why am I getting so upset over something like this?”

Let me first revisit the basics of positive thinking and the Law of Attraction.
If you always complain about what you don’t have, and never feel grateful for what you do have, it becomes difficult to create happy days—because happy days are built from little happy moments.
To be happy in this moment, you can be grateful for what you have and try to see things positively. In such situations, “being positive” and “positive thinking” are often suggested.
According to the Law of Attraction which is the Law of Vibration, a positive thought attracts another thought that matches its vibration. Those thoughts then attract more of the same, eventually becoming powerful enough to manifest your desire. This is why positive thinking is said to help you realise your dreams.
However, feeling bad or being hurt by someone’s harsh words, such as “You’ll be useless outside this company!”, does not mean that you will fail to realise your dreams. It’s perfectly okay to feel upset by offensive words or actions, or to feel depressed when someone says something terrible.
In fact, suppressing your emotions can create another difficulty.

This pitfall is created by the false belief that being negative is bad. You can let go of this idea, and instead, remember that all of your emotions need to be accepted.
Feelings and emotions play an important role on your spiritual path. They are also directly connected to your raison d’être—your reason for being. If you’re curious about that connection, you may enjoy reading How to Be More Satisfied with Your Life? ~Life-Purpose Reading.
For this reason, please be careful not to lie to yourself by saying or thinking something contrary to your true feelings. Otherwise, you may unconsciously reject a part of yourself.
And when you become emotional:
- Don’t follow your mind.
- Let your emotions flow freely—until the flow becomes still.
It’s important to let them move through you until you feel lighter. Once suppression is released, you will naturally be able to move forward.
If you still feel stuck, there may be some emotions left within you that are asking to be acknowledged and released.
The Pitfall Hidden in “Everything Happens for a Reason”
Are you forcing yourself to do something unpleasant—or even painful—because you believe the situation is happening for a reason?
“Everything Happens for a Reason” can be true. There are lessons that help your soul grow in many experiences.
But those lessons may not be what you expect.
For example, imagine you’ve chosen a dance class because you have wanted to learn dance for a long time. But the teacher turns out to be arrogant and abusive. When students make mistakes, he shouts at them and repeats harsh words.
In such situation, your divine lesson is most probably not to endure his abusive words.

You may think that there must be a reason you chose his class, or that you have to learn something from him. Then, you may also find reasons not to give yourself permission to leave:
- “Let me see how it goes for at least a few months.”
- “His dance skills are great; I shouldn’t be bothered by his personality.”
- “I’ve already paid for ten classes and can’t waste the tickets.”
But it may be worth asking yourself whether this situation is more of a curse than a blessing.
Perhaps the lesson is not to endure, but to find the strength to step out of the situation—something like:
- Being honest about your feelings
- Saying “stop” and “no” in an assertive way
- Protecting your self-esteem by respecting your feelings more than money
That pitfall is created by the myth: “You must suffer in order to succeed.”
I am not saying that you will never experience difficulty in your soul’s lessons. But true soul growth must, in some way, lead you back to love.
If you’re currently sacrificing your self-respect for something, please pause and look at your situation objectively. You may be falling into this second pitfall.

I hope you’ve not fallen into either of those two pitfalls. Still, I’d recommend you taking a moment to gently ask yourself whether you might have.
If you feel even a small doubt, revisit the reasons those pitfalls are created. Knowing them can help you review what is truly happening within you.
I wrote this article because I don’t want you to waste your time in these pitfalls.
And now—if, just a split second ago, you thought, “Everything happens for a reason, so there’s no such thing as wasted time,” please be careful😉
